Bio

Amaury Tañón-Santos (él/he) is a pastor by vocation, a historian by training, and a collaborator at heart. Since 2021, he has led the Sycamore Collaborative as Executive Director/CEO, guiding this half-century-old network of faith communities in the greater Schenectady area, which serves as the region’s largest food relief effort. In fall 2025, Amaury will step into a new chapter as pastor of the Presbyterian-United Church of Christ in Saratoga Springs—a congregation with more than 200 years of faith witness committed to solidarity, justice, hope, and love.

Before stepping into social sector leadership, Amaury served congregations in the urban contexts of New York and New Jersey. He has also worked in higher theological education—as a program director focused on multicultural ministry, faith and public life, and Latina/o leadership formation, and as staff in regional church ministry. His vocational journey in faith, community engagement, and urban life began in his native Puerto Rico, the traditional land of the Borikén Taíno.

Amaury holds degrees in Spanish Caribbean and Latin American history (BA, Universidad de Puerto Rico en Cayey), religion and society (MDiv, Princeton Theological Seminary), and urban studies and intercultural engagement (DMin, New Brunswick Theological Seminary). He is also an alumnus of Duke Divinity School’s Foundations of Christian Leadership and a fellow of the Glean Network’s SHIFT and START programs.

He lives in New York’s Capital Region, on the traditional land of the Mohican people, with his spouse, Jeannette, and their children, Aiden Paul and Sebastián Mikel.
