Bio

Amaury Tañón-Santos (él/he) is a pastor by vocation, a historian by training, and a collaborator at heart. He serves as pastor and head of staff of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Saratoga Springs (PUCC), a congregation with more than 200 years of faithful witness. PUCC is deeply committed to solidarity, justice, hope, and love, and is engaged in partnerships that support food relief, immigrants, LGBTQ+ neighbors, peacemaking efforts, and others throughout Saratoga Springs, the Greater Capital Region of New York, and beyond.

Amaury’s pastoral and community leadership is grounded in years of experience across the social service, community engagement, and faith formation sectors. Before joining PUCC, he served as Executive Director and CEO of the Sycamore Collaborative and pastored congregations in urban communities in New York and New Jersey. He has also served in higher theological education as a program director focused on multicultural ministry, faith and public life, and Latina/o leadership formation, and in regional church ministry.

His vocational journey in faith, community engagement, and urban life began in his native Puerto Rico and continues to encourage his commitment to peacemaking and solidarity.

Amaury holds degrees in Spanish Caribbean and Latin American history (BA, Universidad de Puerto Rico en Cayey), religion and society (MDiv, Princeton Theological Seminary), and urban studies and intercultural engagement (DMin, New Brunswick Theological Seminary). He is also an alumnus of Duke Divinity School’s Foundations of Christian Leadership and a fellow of the Glean Network’s SHIFT and START programs.

He lives in New York’s Capital Region with his spouse, Jeannette, and their children, Aiden Paul and Sebastián Mikel.
